Name generation based on characteristics
The module adds specified characteristics to the product name, making the name more informative for the buyer and more attractive to search algorithms.
Why are the characteristics in the product name
When indexing product cards, search algorithms take into account only the product name and description, but do not take into account the characteristics. At the same time, it is not uncommon for products to differ from each other in their characteristics.
Electronics will be a very vivid illustration of this. Let's say the phone: manufacturer, line, module – match, the amount of memory differs. And it is this information that the buyer will need during the search. However, he will be able to see this information only by going to the product card, if he does not put it in the name.
But adding this information to the product names manually is very long and expensive. Therefore, we have created a module that allows us to automate this process.
Module functionality
The module allows you to make the name not only more suitable for search engines, but also pleasant for customers.
In order for the feature to appear in the name, certain settings must be made in it. First, you need to specify that this characteristic should be used in the name, then you can specify a prefix and a postfix: a text that will help turn the name into a readable text, and not just a dry enumeration of characteristics.
For example, there is a characteristic "Quantity in a set", which has several options: 3,5,7. In the characteristic, you can specify the prefix: "Included in the set" - this text will stand before the characteristic, and the postfix: "pieces| pieces" - one of these options will stand after the value of the characteristic. As a result, we will get, for example, the following text: "The set includes 3 pieces."
After setting up the characteristics, you need to go into the product and click the "Generate name" button.
